World Sailing Great, Jon Sanders
After nearly seventy years at the helm, world sailing great, Jon Sanders is set to leave Perth on his tenth trip around the world. The yachtsman has broken 34 world records at sea but this trip could be the last.
Jon and Perie Banou II are soon to depart on their first leg of the record-breaking 10th circumnavigation of the globe. For those of you who would like to farewell Jon – there are two options.
Join us at the RPYC Fremantle Annexe on Saturday 15th October from 7:30am. Jon and his crew will be departing the Annexe at 8:30 sharp.
Why not take your boat out for the start of the 48th Geraldton Classic and the Dirk Hartog Ocean Classic and wish Jon well on his way. Boats will be assembling between North Mole and Hallbank Buoy.
The race starts at 9:30am.
Hope to see you there!

We’re excited!! Perie Banou II is now nearly ready for her undercoat!! Thank you so much to all the Members who have put their hearts and souls, not to mention the hours of hard work into getting her to this point. Look out over the next few weeks for photos of her progress.
